In the pedestrian central street of Horsens, underneath the beautiful, historical 18th-century Lichtenberg Mansion, you find the even older cellar. The vaulted and atmospheric cellar has been a centre for festive gatherings of Horsens residents since the 19th century. Today, the premises house Restaurant Eydes where you can enjoy delicious Danish cuisine with a touch of the French. The light, tiled floor, the vaulted ceiling, the many pillars and the light falling through the tall panes provide a welcoming and cosy atmosphere for everyone – whether you are a local, a tourist or a businessperson.
The menu of Restaurant Eydes offers classical Danish dishes prepared with local produce. For lunch, you have a wide selection of open sandwiches as well as a selection of hot dishes. Also, try the lovely Horsens cake. The varied evening menu includes classics such as Wiener Schnitzel, filled patty shells, steak tartare as well as many starts, oysters and caviar. The well-known dishes are prepared with a French culinary twist by the French chefs of the restaurant.
Restaurant Eydes has an extensive wine menu and is also located next to the atmospheric wine bar that has its own wine shop. The wine bar is a cosy and relaxing place to meet with a wide selection of beer, wine and cocktails and is also able to serve a good cup of coffee. The wine bar has a compact and varied bar menu including, amongst others, charcuterie, sausages, cheeses and caviar.
