Marked hiking trails in Horsens

In Horsens, it's easy to find nature near the city and beautiful paths perfect for hiking. The city has two of the so-called "Hjertestier," which are the Heart Association's marked hiking trails. Both offer nature, green oases, and easy access to your daily exercise. And the routes aren't so long that they can't be fit into a busy schedule or combined with other experiences in Horsens.

The Heart Trail in Horsens East

This route takes you around the district of Stensballe in the northeastern part of Horsens. You can choose between a 8.4 km or a shorter 5.4 km route. The route follows Horsens Fjord on the Husodde Path, which offers a beautiful view of the fjord. You reach the popular bathing beach, Husodde Strand, where there is a kiosk with the opportunity to buy cold drinks and ice cream. Via a beautiful, wide grass path, the journey continues to Stensballegaard Golf Club and from there to Nørrestrand.

It is a varied hiking trail that offers both coast, beach, and wildlife reserve.

If you choose the shorter route, the trip does not go through Nørrestrand, but is a round trip in the eastern part of Stensballe around Husodde Strand. Instead, you walk on part of the extensive path system that characterizes the cozy residential neighborhoods in Stensballe.

The Heart Trail Horsens North

The route in Horsens North is a round trip around Nørrestrand and Caroline Amalie Lund Park, covering 5.3 km.

The old city park Caroline Amalie Lund is home to the Horsens Art Museum, Horsens Museum, a nice playground, and several sculptures. Here, there is an opportunity to park and explore after the hike.

Via the steep Carolinelundsvej, the Solbakken allotment area, and Forum Horsens stadium, the journey continues down to the paths in Nørrestrand at the northern edge of the city. Here, in the wildlife reserve, you can experience an unusual wealth of nature, just a few kilometers from the center.
