How do you avoid that cost of your vacation exceeds expectations? Most people have found themselves in a situation where expenses skyrocket. But you can easily have an inexpensive holiday without compromising on quality. We guide you to cheap experiences in Horsens.

Visit a museum and expand your horizon

Horsens has a nice and varied range of top-notch museums. Maybe you think that it would be too expensive to visit them all but, actually, the Horsens museums have come up with a solution to this issue. The city’s four major museums collaborate on a museum pass that provides access to both The Prison Museum, Denmark's Industrial Museum, Horsens Museum and Horsens Art Museum at an advantageous price. That way, you get many hours of entertainment, learning and immersion for less money.

Immerse yourself in the wild nature

In Horsens, you are never far from experiences in beautiful nature and, fortunately, enjoying nature is free. Although, in some cases, it is necessary to pay a small sum to have great experiences.

The island of Endelave has an abundant flora and fauna with wild rabbits and a large seal colony, amongst others. Endelave is a good starting point for a nice day on an idyllic Danish island. Unless you plan to build your own raft, you need to buy a ferry ticket to visit the island. Fortunately, the trip through Horsens Fjord and the Kattegat is an experience in itself and the ticket price is reasonable. If you visit the island outside of the high season, the ferry crossing is reduced to half the usual price.

Canoeing or kayaking on Gudenåen

The ferry is far from the only way of experiencing Horsens from the water. The area has several freshwater lakes and streams in lovely surroundings, so try renting a canoe to experience the Horsens area in a unique way.

Rent a boat from Bygholm Sø Camping for a trip on Bygholm Lake and explore the popular tourist attraction near the city from a different angle.

If you are more interested in sailing on Gudenåen, we recommend that you rent a canoe from either Elite Camp Vestbirk or Gudenåcamping Brædstrup. Sail up it the most beautiful part of Gudenåen at Voervadsbro and maybe put in at Klostermølle Canoe Camp Site. If you would rather feel the fresh sea air of Horsens Fjord in your face, you can rent a kayak from Horsens City Camping and head out on one of Denmark’s most beautiful fjords.

Horsens has a nice range of attractions which will keep the family’s youngest entertained for hours on end.

While you are at Horsens City Camping, play a game of crazy golf with your family on the beautiful crazy golf course.

Are you in the mood to make a hit and maybe a strike? At Hotel Pejsegården, you can grab a bowling ball and fight your family or friends for the glory. You can also play a game of billiards while the children enjoy the arcade games, or you can enjoy a tasty and reasonably-priced meal at Bistro Dillen.
