You can find several cosy marinas with good facilities and marina activities in both the East Jutland Archipelago and in Horsens Fjord. At the same time, you are never far from great experiences. The area is the perfect summer destination for yachting enthusiasts.
With its many islands and beautiful fjords, Østjylland is an obvious destination for your sailing holiday. The many local ports are full of summer atmosphere, lovely eateries, experiences and events.
Horsens Marina is found at the bottom of Horsens Fjord and unbeatably located near the centre of this city of culture – a mere stone’s throw from shopping and lovely eateries. The large marina has all of 600 spaces for visitors and all the facilities the heart desires.
On the water’s edge you find the popular Restaurant Pynten which has a large terrace facing the water, an ice cream kiosk and a playground for the children. And, next to the marina, you find the city beach Langelinie, which buzzes with life and activities all summer.
At Langelinie, you find a large, beautiful bathing jetty, art, sports and different kinds of events.
A new feature is that spaces for visitors have been created in the inner port area – a few hundred metres from the pedestrian city centre. This provides exceptional opportunities for sailors to reach the heart of a major Danish city.
These years, the old Horsens industrial port is undergoing a massive transformation into an attractive residential and public area with a harbour lido, cafés and much more. As a yachting enthusiast, you will be able to follow this development from the front row.
If you want to experience Horsens, you can borrow a bicycle at the marina. The marina has a slipway with a crane and bathing, laundering and drying facilities.
The island of Endelave with its wild rabbits has a nice new port with good facilities. Like in Horsens, there are laundering, drying and bathing facilities as well as toilet, electricity and internet. There is also a playground and nice common rooms where it is possible to barbecue.
Near the port, there are grocery stores and eateries at e.g. Endelave Kro and Endelave Medicinal Herb Garden. The island has beautiful sceneries which are worth exploring. You can rent a bike at the port and ride around the island, where you may be lucky to spot the rabbits that live here.
Have your own island passport and collect stamps when you visit Danish islands.
